Angel's Landing

This image from Zion National Park has always been a favorite among many, even though it includes no magnificent fall colors or brilliant sunsets. It was edited in a particular manner to slightly exaggerating the detail and character of the gorgeous red rock walls of the canyon. The composition includes an appealing balance between lofty clouds and the low horizontal flow of winter trees, the distant yellows of the rising canyon that work with the line of yellow grasses, and the heights of Angel’s landing to the left balance the tall trees and canyon wall to the right. Ultimately, I am reminded of the majesty of the place, and I long to stand there again.
